Dr. Timothy Loftus specializes in solving complex problems that improve the overall quality of life for individuals and communities. Leveraging his background in science, medicine, law and public health, he possesses experience in high-level research and scientific consulting for private and public sector clients. His track record demonstrates success improving outcomes and driving efficiencies within public health, healthcare and related technologies, and beyond. He welcomes discussing opportunities that help achieve better and more equitable human health.
Dr. Timothy Loftus previously served on faculty in Law and Public Health at the University of Miami. His work examined neighborhood and community health and resiliency and the impact of housing displacement on HIV diagnosis/treatment and mental health.
Dr. Loftus obtained his B.S. in Chemistry with highest distinction and magna cum laude from the University of Illinois and his M.D. from Washington University in St. Louis. He did post-graduate training in emergency medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, The University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell, training at both Weill Cornell and Columbia University Medical Centers in New York City. Dr. Loftus obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami where he served as a research fellow launching an effort to address health disparities in Miami communities.
Dr. Loftus received the inaugural GRACE Community Service Award in 2022 and the 2021 HOPE Innovative Service in the Public Interest Award for his work. During law school, he worked with the Florida Health Justice Project focusing on healthcare accessibility for low-income Floridians. Prior to law school, Dr. Loftus served as vice president of a healthcare software firm.
